Ascensus Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 September 2026

Ascensus collects no personal data. There are no accounts, no sign-up, no servers of our own, and the app sends nothing anywhere. This page explains in detail what is stored on your phone, and why there is nothing else to report.

The short version

Ascensus is an iPhone game that runs entirely on your device.

  • No data of any kind leaves your phone.
  • There are no user accounts, no sign-up and no login.
  • There is no server of our own: the game never calls one.
  • There are no ads, no advertising identifier and no tracking.
  • There are no in-app purchases in this version.

What is stored, and where

Your progress is saved in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Nobody else has access to those files.

  • What you have unlocked in the game.
  • Your gear and items.
  • The state of your runs.

If you delete the app, that data goes with it.

The local run log

The game keeps a local file called runs.json with a history of up to 500 runs. It uses it to tune its own difficulty and in-game economy.

That file is never sent anywhere. It lives and dies on your phone, and it is deleted when you uninstall the app.

Co-op multiplayer

Co-op only works between devices on the same wifi network. The connection is direct between them and never passes through a server of ours.

While you play co-op, the devices exchange gameplay information: positions, enemies and loot. No personal data is exchanged.

Advertising and third-party SDKs

The released version of Ascensus loads no third-party SDK and no ad provider. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is not used, there is no tracking and there is no personalised advertising.

iCloud backup

If iCloud backup is turned on for your iPhone, the app's data may be included in that backup. Apple handles that backup under your own account and its own terms. The developer neither controls it nor has access to it.

Apple's statistics

Apple gives the developer aggregated, anonymous statistics about downloads and usage. If you have agreed to share crash data with developers, Apple also provides crash reports.

Apple collects and provides that information, not the app. The developer cannot identify anyone from it.

Your rights and the GDPR

The developer does not process any personal data about you. So there is no legal basis to declare, no data processors, no international transfers and no records to look up.

In practice, your right to erasure takes care of itself: delete the app and everything Ascensus had stored on the phone goes with it. If you also have iCloud backup on, manage that backup from your Apple account settings.

If you believe any of this is not the case, get in touch and it will be looked into.

Children

Ascensus is suitable for a general audience and is not specifically aimed at children under 13. Since the app collects no data, no children's data is processed either.

Changes to this policy

If how the app works changes, this page is updated and the date above changes with it. If the app ever started collecting data, it would be explained here before that happened, and noted in the release notes.
